JOIN US ON THE “ZOOMING” BUS

We’re excited to announce our next virtual edition of United Way of Central Minnesota and the Central Minnesota Community Foundation’s JOIN US ON THE BUS tours!

Join us Monday, October 25 at 4:00 p.m. to learn about how local organizations are providing housing support and assistance since the moratorium has been lifted on evictions.  We are all under one roof and there is a way that you can be a part of the solutions.

Summer Conard and Julie Ellis will be joining us from Stearns County. Summer’s personal experience of being homeless helps guide her insights and discussion on best housing practices.  Julie will be talking about her work with the “HOME” Team.  We’ll have the opportunity to visit with Tri-Cap, a leader in our community with providing housing assistance for the past two decades. They’ll be touching on the challenges of navigating the rental market. CAIRO, Center for African Immigrants and Refugees Organizations, is a new organization to the area and on our bus route. They will discuss their housing program that addresses home ownership, access and stability issues.

And finally, we’ll reconnect with Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid to talk about their on-going services to combat the housing crisis in Minnesota.
