United Way Health investment Process

Our vision is to live in a community where all have the opportunity to live healthier lives – in body, mind and spirit. The initial focus area of the Health Pillar is mental health. The work of the Mental Health Committee is to 1) identify opportunities to improve access to mental health services and connect individuals and families to the resources in our community, and 2) promote mental health wellness in our community, and 3) facilitate a collaborative approach to this  issue.

The four focus priority areas are:

  • Children and Mental Health - Facilitating right time, right place, right service
  • Caretakers (Parents/Guardians, Educators, After School staff) - Equipping and supporting the caregiver
  • Senior Isolation- Promoting wellness throughout life and, in particular, good mental health for seniors
  • Awareness and access
