COVID-19 Volunteer & Donation Needs

United Way Volunteer Action Center Needs Your Help.

As the situation with Coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to evolve, we have the safety of our staff, community partners, and the general public as our top priority. We want to let you know that United Way of Central Minnesota will continue to mobilize the caring power of Central Minnesota and provide service to the community while doing our part to limit the spread of COVID-19. Our community needs us now more than ever.

Raise Your Hand

Our Volunteer Action Center is receiving daily updates from our community asking for donations and volunteer support. While at this time it is not safe to operate out of our Volunteer Action Center location, we will continue to update this list of ways you can help while maintaining responsible social distancing.

MN Food Share ~ 2020 March Campaign

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the incredible and immense work food shelves have taken on at this time, the March Campaign has been extended through April 30, 2020. Food Shelves need your help now more than ever. MN Food Share will provide a match to participating food shelves.

SCSU Food Pantry

SCSU Food Pantry is looking for non-perishable food items, personal care items and can openers for students. They are in rooms 114-115 in Miller Center, 8:30am – 4:00pm. They are grateful for any and all donations and they can be dropped off with these students right outside MC 114/115. Next week’s schedule may change. Look for updates. 

 

Quiet Oaks Hospice 

Quiet Oaks could use the following donations: Chocolate, Nitrile Gloves- Size M, Face masks- surgical for now manufactured- holding off on the homesewn, N95 face masks, Disinfecting Wipes- at least 70% alcohol, Alcohol Prep pads, Liquid hand soap, Laundry Detergent, Disinfecting spray- 70% + alcohol, Hand lotion, 55 Gal Trash bags, Paper Towels, and toilet paper.

Country Manor

Country Manor is looking for the following donations: hand sanitizer, toilet paper, IPads for residents to spend time with family, cards and letters for residents. 

If you wish to donate, please drop off items at the Main Entrance door #1.

The Good Shepherd

Thank you so much for helping to provide personal touches to our residents at Good Shepherd. They are welcoming the following items:

  •     Placemats – colored and laminated, for sanitary purposes, that can brighten a meal alone in a resident room. 
  •     Elastic ¼ wide or less and Cotton or Flannel Fabric for the production of masks. 
  •     Personal notes of “Hope and Wellness” to residents. 
  •     Personal protective equipment (PPE) and supplies for donation: thermometers, masks, gowns, alcohol, swabs, eye protection, disinfectant wipes, gloves.

Anna Marie’s Alliance Donation Needs

Hand Sanitizer, toilet paper, cleaning supplies, antibacterial wipes, gas cards. Donations can be dropped off at 505 10thAve North, Monday through Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm.

Pathways 4 Youth

  •     Fruit cups/pudding/applesauce/jell-o cups
  •     Canned food with pop tops (soup, spaghettios, etc)
  •     Packaged meals (rice/noodle dishes)

Donations are accepted on Wednesday and Thursday from 5-6pm at Pathways 4 Youth to accept food and gift cards. Due to COVID-19 and to protect the safety of volunteers and staff, they are not accepting clothing at this time.

American Red Cross

Place of Hope Donation Needs

Place of Hope is looking for the following donations: Food items such as canned vegetable, spaghetti sauces, tomato sauces and baked beans. Other items include Clorox wipes, toilet paper, 40 plus gallon garbage bags, bleach, dishwashing liquid, high efficiency laundry soap. Donations can be dropped off at 511 9thAve North, St Cloud 56303. Drop off at door 4 between 7am and 6pm.

Big Brothers Big Sisters

Big Brothers Big Sisters is still recruiting for Mentors. During this time all Information sessions will be done through Zoom webinars. Volunteers can sign up for a day/time @http://www.bigdefenders.org/signup

Catholic Charities Emergency Services Wish List

Catholic Charities is working to meet the demand of food for people in need. Non-perishable food items needs include: peanut butter, canned meat, canned fruit/vegetables, dried fruit, juice, oil, flour, sugar, spices/seasonings, dressing, rice, pasta, whole grain cereal, larger sized diapers, baby wipes, formula, baby food, and cereal. Toiletries needed such as toothpaste and brushes, razors, shampoo, feminine hygiene products, deodorant, bar soap, combs, toilet paper, dish and laundry detergent. Donations can be dropped off at 157 Roosevelt Rd, Suite 100, Door D, St. Cloud. Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri 8am-4pm and Wed 8am-6:30pm. ROCORI Food Shelf

ROCORI Food shelf is looking for toilet paper and cleaning supplies to keep the shelter clean. Donations can be dropped off at the food shelf located next to American Legion in Cold Spring. Monday and Wednesday, 5:30-7:30pm. Service area includes Rockville, Cold Spring and Richmond. 

 

Sewing Surgical Caps

St.Cloud Hospital is in need of Surgical Caps for staff use. Volunteers are asked to assist with assembling and donating the caps to help meet this urgent need. They hope you consider this unique request as an opportunity to volunteer your talent during this challenging time. Volunteer time will be recorded, so please track the hours you contribute toward this project.

Tri-County Humane Society Donation Needs

TriCounty Humane Society is looking for the following donations: paper towels, face tissue, TP, Clorox wipes, hand sanitizer, liquid hand soap, dish soap and cat litter. Donations can be brought to the shelter. There is a donation box outside their front door during open hours. Currently they are open every day 12-5:00pm.

Tri-County Humane Society Foster Parents

When an animal is too young, sick, injured or just needs someone to teach them basic manners, foster parents help fill the gap between the time the animal is brought to the shelter and the time they are adopted.  Our foster program helps us save more lives! Domus Transitional Housing

Catholic Charities Domus Transitional Housing for women with children, Veterans and single women, located in St. Cloud. They are looking for donations of size 6 diapers and baby wipes. Schedule drop off with staff by calling 320-259-9270.
