Learn what United Way of Central Minnesota can do for you and your employees.
United Way at Work is a service for businesses to increase awareness of United Way and involve employees in meeting community needs year-round.
Each meeting is hosted at a participating business or human service agency and educates participants on key issues which they can then share with co-workers. This service helps keep area businesses informed on the changing human service needs of Central Minnesota, and encourages employees to get involved in the community.
One of the key topics at meetings is sharing among employers about how they are active year-round communicating and involving employees: ways they help and volunteer in the community, how they educate employees about services that can assist them and their families, events related to United Way or involvement within the community.
Presenters at the meetings raise the awareness of community issues and services. Some examples are: budgeting/financial counseling; food needs and how to run a food drive, free tax preparation sites and Earned Income Tax Credit that can help lower income employees and their families, volunteer reading and other opportunities, parenting issues and programs, emotional and mental health, United Way services such as Imagination Library and United Way 2-1-1.
United Way at Work meets quarterly and is free to all area employers. Contact Betty for more information or to become a member at (320) 252-0227.
