2010 Award Winners
United Way presented three LIVE UNITED Awards to individuals who through their vision, energy and actions made an outstanding difference in the community. Patrick Shepard of Tri-CAP, Jenny Otte of Gold'n Plump, and Trevor Swenson of Scheels All Sports were honored.
More than 40 companies were nominated for campaign awards recognizing their outstanding support in the 2010 United Way workplace campaign. "Running successful campaigns and helping others give back provides me with a sense of pride and accomplishment," said Tonya Inselman, campaign manager of Automotive Parts Headquarters.
There were three size categories - small, medium and large. Organizations with 100 or less employees, a small company - organizations with 100 - 199 employees, a medium company and organizations of 200 or more employees, a large company. Winners were as follows:
Campaign Creativity and Innovation - given to companies that demonstrate creative and new ideas in their workplace campaign: Unique Screen Media, small; Automotive Parts Headquarters, medium; andQuad/Graphics, large.Two additional awards were given out this year. Marco, Inc. was honored with a new award, "Innovative Excellence", for integrating new technologies into their multi-location, multi-state workplace campaign and their use of electronic pledge processing.
Chairman's Award of Excellence- awarded to companies involved with United Way year round having displayed excellence in their campaign: Northern Wire, small;Scheels All Sports, medium; and Gold'n Plump, large.
UWCM created the "Warm & Fuzzy Award" to honor Lumber One, Avon Inc. for creating over 200 fleece blankets since 2006 for local nonprofits.
