The web site is easy to use, and there are many ways to search the database. Search by:
- Keyword
- Agency
- Location
- Social Issue
- Opportunities for Youth
- One-time Opportunities
- Ongoing Opportunities
Keyword
Under the section “Find a Volunteer Opportunity” type in a keyword that describes your volunteer interests such as children, food, driving, mentoring, repairs, disabilities, etc. Click GO! A list of volunteer opportunities will appear. Click opportunities that interest you to get more details and a direct link to email the volunteer coordinator. (top)
Agency
Click Agencies (top of Volunteer Central MN main page) to view all the agencies on the website. Click on an agency for additional information. Then click on “View Opps” on the right side for that agency’s volunteer opportunities. (top)
Location
Under the section “Find a Volunteer Opportunity” type in your zip in the box and click on the down arrow to select your distance preference. Click GO! A list of volunteer opportunities will appear. Click opportunities that interest you to get more details and a direct link to email the volunteer coordinator. (top)
Social Issue
Under the section “Find a Volunteer Opportunity” click on the down arrow for the box labeled “Social Issue” and select one of interest to you. Click GO! A list of volunteer opportunities will appear. Click opportunities that interest you to get more details and a direct link to email the volunteer coordinator. (top)
Opportunities for Youth
Scroll down on the Volunteer Central MN homepage until you find the section titled “Opportunities for Teens to Volunteer.” Click on (more) to read about an opportunity. OR click on “More opportunities” to find the full listing of opportunities for youth. (top)
One-Time Opportunities
View the section titled, “Upcoming one-time Opportunities” on the Volunteer Central MN homepage. The date of the opportunity is listed for you. Click on (more) to read about an opportunity. (top)
Register for Ongoing Opportunities
To register your name and opt for regular emails related to your interests…Go to the Login section on the main page and click on register. Type in your account information and click NEXT. Then you will have the option to receive monthly emails of current events and opportunities based on your interests, and the web site will display your personalized information each time you login.
